This exercise asks to write the third forms of these verbs:
to hug — hugged — hugged
to teach — taught — taught
to spell — spelt/spelled — spelt/spelled
to fight — fought — fought
to meet — met — met
to sing — sang — sung
to fall — fell — fallen
Explanation:
1. Regular verbs (like 'hug') form their past tense and past participle by adding '-ed'
2. Irregular verbs have unique forms:
- teach → taught → taught
- spell → spelt/spelled → spelt/spelled (both British and American forms accepted)
- fight → fought → fought
- meet → met → met
